Pampered POMS Rescue

Inside Pampered Paws Grooming Salon

 Why we do Rescue

Our little rescue started in 2010 when my dog passed away. He was the light of my life and I was devastated. I thought I could foster for another rescue and quickly realized why I couldn't and why I needed to be in charge. I spent many years working at the humane society prior to becoming a groomer (back in the 80's). I wanted to make the important decisions, like who got to adopt them, what we fed, and medical care, etc. So I got my non profit status from the IRS and then my state license too.  I was raised with Pomeranians so this breed is dear to my heart.  There are all breeds available in shelters and through rescue, but this is my breed of choice. We keep the dogs at my grooming salon, Pampered Paws Grooming Salon. We are very fortunate to have a playroom, that lets out onto a deck and big fenced yard. They get to play all day, get socialized, and not be caged all the time. We take the dogs society throws away, give them love and medical care along with behavior evaluations, before searching for the perfect homes. We can groom them immediately, which many need, and can provide grooming after they are adopted if they stay local. Sometimes we continue to see the dogs for years later in the grooming salon. We are lucky to have this option. If you are searching for a new family member check out our CURRENT ADOPTABLES page. If you would like to volunteer, check out our VOLUNTEER page. If you can donate in any way, check out our DONATE page. We solely rely on donations, as most of the dogs have vet bills above the adoption fees. Some have major surgery and we try to get them as healthy as possible for the new owner, even if it means we break the bank, and rob Peter to pay Paul, so to speak. We could not do this without our supporters. It takes a village to rescue, and the village includes every one of you!

Thank you & God bless!
